18th November 2023 | Food Tour

The day started at Wayland’s Yard, a notorious breakfast spot in Worcester offering an array of cuisine mostly involving eggs. Dog friendly, as we had Knuckles with us, we were warmly greeted by a member of the team and seated at one of their rustic wooden tables. Placing our order via QR code at the table after selecting what we wanted to eat. HT had Turkish Eggs and theHouse Sparkling raspberry lemonade whilst LC decided on Avo Pico Toast and a Classic filter coffee and RS chose Lebanese eggs with extra halloumi and an orange juice.

Once we’d finished at the first dining spot, it was time for a walk around the river circuit. The first leg of the journey worked up our appetite for the snack stop, Guilt Trip. Tucked away in the industrial estate of Lower Wick, Guilt Trip offers coffee and doughnuts as well as a couple of other treats. We decided to split three ways the Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Nutella Mousse and Maple Toffee doughnuts.
After finishing the rest of the river walk we decided on another small nibble so headed for Francini Cafe de Colombia where we had Whitecorn Arepa with Buffalo mozzarella, tomate, pesto, avocado, Patacones and Colombian Empanadas.

As Knuckles had been out with us all day we sent him home (not by himself obviously) then tried to get into Island, a small but very popular Greek restaurant. Unfortunately, as it was a Saturday night and we hadn’t booked, we were unable to get a table. After wandering around wondering where to go, we decided to stick to a restaurant we’d been to before as we knew the food was consistently good. Siam Smile is a family run establishment offering simple and delicious Thai food. We had Mixed Starter Vegetable dish which was delicious and the perfect end to our food tour.
